b4
—Fixed resource not found printing problem
—Tweaked preview mode (now uses 16-bit pixmaps)
—Added preference "Don't re-scale previews"
If this option is checked, Jade will not attempt to squish images after decompression. This decreases initial display speed, especially on GIFs. On the other hand, it gets in the way if you like to tile your previews.
This option overrides the "Shrink images to screen" option, meaning that your previews can be larger than your images in another viewing mode (e.g., standard or full).
b3

Version 1.11 (not released)
b3
—Images now properly update when images are scrolled vertically when the Filing window is on top of it.
—Full preview capabilities (in the Standard File dialog).
In order to use these, you need quicktime to be installed.
—Ability to scroll by drag-clickling.
This only works in documents w/scroll bars (i.e. not in full screen or slideshow modes)
—Changed command-. to abort all threads (not just the front window's)
Command-, now aborts the front window's thread only.
—Scale indicator changed from fractional (e.g. 1/2) to percentage (e.g. 50%)
—Fixed crash which occured after the overflow window (the window which appears when you're trying to open too many images) appeared
—Filing window keys in the list are now aligned
—Can now have filing folders/apps without key assignment
Instead of typing a key, just click the mouse
—Fixed bug when editing filing folder/app alias
—Fading improvements
It's now an option which works both in the manual and automatic slideshow modes.
—Filing window size/location retains settings across sessions
—Ability to save defaults for index creation
—Slight speed increase for PowerPC versions
—Dumping images to disk no longer blocks (no more pauses for big images)
—Ability to Open Folder/Application in Filing Window list
—Ability to Load images from folder in Filing Window list
—"Full" viewing mode
This is similar to the "Standard" viewing mode which tries to pick an optimal image size which fits inside the screen, but
instead of fitting inside the screen, it picks the next optimal size up (which will be 2 times bigger).
—Ability to shrink images to the screen size.
This takes an image and shrinks it to the size of the screen (minus the menu bar). In order for images to take up the whole screen (no menu bar), images must be initally opened in the full screen mode (in preferences).
This also reduces the amount of disk space/RAM required to store an image after decompression and also speeds up display time in full screen/slideshow modes.
—Ability to keep images in memory
For people with lots of RAM. This makes display time much faster.
Version 1.1
—Image Filing
One small warning: If you move an image to a different volume, any aliases pointing to it will no longer work. There isn't much I can do about this. This is why when you drag a file between different volumes (in the Finder), it duplicates a file instead of moving it.
—Ability to create image indices
Currently, the only image format you can save it as is PICT. Various other programs (e.g., Photoshop, GifConverter, Debabelizer, etc..) can convert the image to JPG.
—Can now convert all images to one viewing mode
—GIF/PICT/BMP images can now be reduced to preview size
What's in the future (in order of likely implementation):
—finer control over slideshow timing
—ability to add and remove slides from slideshows
—image cataloging
—ability to save JPEG documents
—custom Finder icons for jpeg files
—zoom in/out
—drag and drop manager support
—Applescript support
—automatic image enhancement
